For my blog style, I have chosen to write about travel because it is my passion in life. I want to share my experience and tips with those who are just as passionate as I am.
This style of blog is more related to my minor than my major. I am minoring in communications, with a concentration in journalism, and I am hoping to turn my hobby into my career. I would love to become a photo journalist or write about my adventures traveling around the globe.
One of my dream jobs is to work at a travel magazine such as National Geographic. I would love to travel the world and write about all my findings and understandings of the uncountable cultures. I would love to fill up my passport with stamps of all of the countries I’ve walked and explored.
One website I’m using for inspiration is National Geographic since their message is something that I value very much. Their goal is to create content that cause people to discover the wonders of this magic world we are on and take action in protecting all of it in its beauty. It is our duty to educate those who live on this planet that they are not the only ones who inhabit it and that their actions have consequences.
Another website I drawn influence from is the blog World of Wanderlust. This site is run by Brooke Saward, who has made it her life mission to travel to as many places as possible while taking her followers along for the ride. She writes about everything from travel tips and baking recipes to career advice, and how to end up in her shoes. Saward is one of my biggest role models, specifically for her choice to follow her dreams, even with little to no knowledge about what was going to happen when she first left.
Brook Saward also has the gift of making her writing personable and includes the audience. It makes you feel as if you went along with her on the journey and you are having a conversation about it. I hope to incorporate that style of writing into my blog.
There’s no specific audience that I am aiming to target. Simply anyone, regardless of their age, who is interested in traveling is more than welcome!
