Lost in Los Angeles

The road trip of a lifetime was finished off in the city of angels: Los Angeles, California. Traveling to this inspiring city has always been on my bucket list because of the energy poured out from its inhabitants. Everyone who ventures to L.A. is on their own mission and always have a passionate drive.

Santa Barbara

Before our last stop in the bustling city, we made sure to travel through Big Sur, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, San Jose, and Monterey County as a whole. Each town had a completely unique vibe to it.

For instance, in San Jose, we explored the Winchester Mystery House. Legend has it that a widow built this massive mansion by directions of the devil. There are rooms that have no exit, stairs that lead to nowhere, and there have even been reports of ghost sightings. You could definitely tell that the property had an eerie feel to it when you immediately stepped out of the car.

Monterey County

In Monterey County, we made sure to stop at the notorious aquarium and learn about the environment surrounding us. Visitors come from across the world to learn about the unique Monterey Bay at its world-class facility and it did not disappoint. One of my favorite exhibitions was the sea otters and kelp forest.

On our way to L.A., we were sure to travel through Big Sur in the surf city of Carmel and Santa Barbara on the infamous Pacific Coast Highway. One must stop was enjoying lunch at the luxurious Nobu in Malibu. We even had an actor sighting of Bradley Cooper, indulging in the seafood.

Big Sur

In Los Angeles, we played the role of tourists as we explored the concrete playground Hollywood has to offer. We walked up and down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, snapping photos of next to the stars. We even got the opportunity to watch the film, Dunkirk, at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, where the Academy Awards are held.

Sunset Boulevard at sunrise

As we ended our grand venture from Seattle to Los Angeles, I watched the sunrise from our hotel over Sunset Boulevard and reflected upon the past month journey. I wanted to stay in my California dreamland but I told myself that I would be sure to return to my future home soon.
